Hey, Finally last Thursday (17/02/2011), the UCT Algorithm Circle restarted.
There are many new applicants and they seem to have changed the course to first come first serve (bar old members of course). I am not entirely happy with this layout as thus coders do not need to prove their prowess.
I also invited my friend, Craig to come along. He is decent at coding but really good at mathematics so I'm sure he can help me with some of the more advanced algorithms and I can help him with the coding however now the UCT course is full again.
I also took part in Google Code Jam Africa, it was interesting but I entered late and didn't have the time required to solve the problems.
I have not been programming recently due to schoolwork however I am sure this will change in the next week.

Current Affairs - 25/01/2011
I am currently studying "Java in 24 hours" as I need to brush up on some concepts before I throw myself at a 2D Game in Java. I have made 2D games in Java and C++ However I wish to create a 3D Game for my matric portfolio and feel that learning Swing will be a good start to game programming in Java 6.
Lets see how it goes, will post progress...
Game will most likely be a 2D RPG or 2D Arcade Shooter, thinking of adding multiplayer content via a mySQL database interface between the client and a server (Still deciding if it would be hosted via the client or via a permanent server running IPv46).
I'm sure I can easily finish this program within the next month or two.

Welcome to my blog. To be frank I made this just for fun but it might come in handy sometime in the near future.
I am currently a 16 year old student and an avid programmer. I have created this blog for the sole purpose of posting and keeping track of any programming projects that I may undertake. I will attempt to finish all the projects I start and will post the code on this site or on a file hosting server.
I guess this is it for post#1.
I'm sure this will be an enjoyable endeavor.
